Things that only another woman would understand.

Today I'm going to take a leap into a topic I have never discussed on my blog before, because well it's mine and I can. =) I am talking about that "gift" that is special to us women, that little visitor we get every month whether we want to or not. I swear it was a man that decided to call it a gift, cause us girls ALL know better. Don't get me wrong if mine shows up a few days past when it's expected, I tend to worry a bit. Since I had my tubes tied almost four years ago I know you understand. Once it rears it's ugly little head I'm ready for it to be gone again for another month.
The reason I bring it up is because I was told the funniest thing years ago and something sparked the memory. I think it was the reminder on the shopping list that I need to pick up those needed items for this month. Never a good thing to run out of. =)
As we girls know there are Nintygabillion different products that are available for us to use to make this time not quite so trying. There are pads, tampons, Diva Cups (EWWWW), and who knows what else. Now I know we all use different things for different reasons. I personally am a tampon person, however since the tubal the first day or so that is not a possibility. So pads it is. Personally I don't care for the "diaper" feel, but pain is not my thing either so I deal.
Getting back to the reason for the post. I know someone who is several (10) years older than I am. Who has never, ever, NEVER used a tampon. I know that in itself is not a big deal. However, I also know that most women at least try them once. Her reasoning for not though is without a doubt one of the funniest things I have ever heard in my life.. (If you have to pee... now would be the time). Don't say I didn't warn you.

She is afraid it's going to get....................................LOST!!! Like end up some place in her body lost.

When I heard this I literally burst out laughing. Anyone who knows anything about the female body, which being one you kinda have to figure she might know at least a bit, knows that it's just not possible. Plus correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that part of what the string is for?

So my question for my lovely followers is what is the craziest thing you have ever heard????

Moving

After two years and three months in Albany Georgia, we decided we needed a change. So as of almost a week ago we are now living in Oxford Alabama. I now remember why I hate moving. I can honestly say this move was a wonderful thing though. Jerry is no longer as stressed, and as a result has only had heartburn once in the last week. For those who know us personally, you know that is a major feat in itself. Made even more earth shattering by the fact that he is not taking the Prilosec anymore.

Chase is adjusting well to the change. This provides him an opportunity to get to know this part of his family. I mean really get to know them, not just see them once, MAYBE twice a year. Will post more later. Time to get back to cleaning and organizing the house.

My awesome husband

On October 18, 2003 was my very first day at a new job. This was also the day I met the man who I can now not picture being a part of my life. We spent the next two weeks getting to know each other. Jerry made a point of coming in the store every time he drove by and I was at work.

November 3, 2003- Jerry came into see me while I was at work. He asked what I was doing when I got off work. When I told him I didn't have any plans, he replied. "Spend some time with me. I promise if you give me a chance you'll never regret it."

November 3, 2011- 8 years later I am so very glad I took that chance. Jerry is my husband, my lover, my confidante, and my very best friend. I can not imagine my life without him in it. The longer he and I are together, the longer I hope we get to spend together. I love him more with every passing day. Until I met him I never understood unconditional love. Now I know what's it's like to be loved because of the person I am. I know that I deserve to be loved like this.

I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to my wonderful husband Jerry for 8 wonderful years, with many, many, many more to follow.

Jerry, I love you more than I can ever hope to be able to express in words. However, I plan to spend the rest of my life trying to show you. Thank you for being you. Also, thank you for loving me like you do!!!
                                                                  Love Always,
                                                                        Yours Forever,
                                                                             Suzanne

After a much needed internet break I am now back and ready to blog like never before.

Things that have happened since my last blog.
We are in the process of moving (not a great idea to have a tooth pulled at the same time).
Jerry went to work for Prince Chevrolet. As of Friday ( 10-28-2011) he is back at Carl Gregory (again) as the Hyundai manager (again).
Chase is growing like a weed. He is going to be taller then me by Kindergarten if he doesn't slow down some.

OMG. Can people be anymore dumb??

Wow. It becomes clearer and clearer to me that the world is full of selfish, self-centered, self-absorbed, entitled morons. Why should these places be able to ban children? I completely understand not wanting to be subjected to the little "darling" whose parents can't be bothered, I agree. BUT what about those of us who are raising well behaved children. My almost 4 year old has been going to the movie theater with us since he was 2 weeks old, we HAVE NEVER had any issues. He either watches the movie, or goes to sleep.

Potty Training

Today is day #2 of HCPT (Hard Core Potty Training). He has been naked during all of his awake time. We have had ZERO accidents. This makes me glad that I waited to really work on it until I KNEW he was ready. As parents we know our children better than anyone else. This is my 3rd, also my easiest to potty train.

25 Manners Every Kid Should Know By Age 9 - Parenting on Shine

25 Manners Every Kid Should Know By Age 9 - Parenting on Shine

I have to admit I agree with this list. Right now I'm having a huge issue with Matthew (14 year old step-son) who we just got custody of with #13. For some reason he sees nothing wrong with swearing in front of adults. So that is something we're going to have to work on.

Cam Newton goes to Carolina Panthers with first pick in NFL draft - Shutdown Corner - NFL Blog - Yahoo! Sports

I hate for Auburn to lose this athlete, but I love that he is starting his pro career. Nice to see someone who played for a team I love go first in the draft. I hope he has a long, wonderful, injury free career.

April 19, 1995

Today marks the 16th Anniversary of the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City. My heart goes out to everyone touched by this tragedy.

Do you remember what you were doing when you heard? Please feel free to share.

I was pregnant with my oldest son.

Mom on Facebook sentenced in son's drowning death - Yahoo! News

Mom on Facebook sentenced in son's drowning death - Yahoo! News

OMG this makes me sick. What kind of horrible human being can leave a 13 month old baby alone in the tub so they can play a game on Facebook. Also, I find it hard to believe that the 13 month old BABY told her he needed privacy. Our jobs as parents is to teach our children right from wrong. This includes telling them NO when the situation calls for it. I honestly feel that 10 years is not long enough.
Chase turned 3 in December, and I am always where I can see him while he is in the bathtub. If I have to leave his eyesight for a second he knows to make noise so I know he's okay. It only takes a matter of seconds for something horrible to happen.

Saying good-bye to a very special lady.

This week marks the passing of a very special person who was an important part of my life, and the lives of my children. To respect the family's privacy I won't name names, or any other personal information. However, I will say that she will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

R.I.P. You were greatly loved, and will be greatly missed.

News & Features - Georgia father fined for tattooing toddler son - ArcaMax Publishing

News & Features - Georgia father fined for tattooing toddler son - ArcaMax Publishing

What kind of moron thinks it's okay to tattoo a child? I honestly think his punishment is far too lenient. As for the judge asking about piercing a little girl's ears, that is a completely different
thing. Piercings can be removed, and will heal, a tattoo is permanent. There is no possible comparison of the two.

News & Features - Boy, 3, killed in fall from roller coaster - ArcaMax Publishing

My heart goes out to everyone involved in this tragic accident. I want to know why there were not height requirement signs posted on this ride. I thought that was a regulation for all amusement parks rides. I know here even with parking lot carnivals, and fairs there are signs posted on all of the rides.

Picture Post

I have picture proof as to why 3 year olds don't dress themselves. What no one can tell is he also has his blue jeans on backwards. Right before I took this picture he told me "Mommy I tuck" which is Chase for "Mommy I'm stuck." Of course I helped him out of his predicament, but not before I made him stand still for a picture.

'Barefoot' Backfire: Make-a-Wish Kid Turns Ina Down | PopEater.com

'Barefoot' Backfire: Make-a-Wish Kid Turns Ina Down | PopEater.com

And the saga continues. I have to say she got what she deserved. This entire situation was something that her career will never bounce back from. I know I personally will never watch her again. I also have several family members who agree. The article brought up a very good point, if people don't like her they won't support her.

I hope Enzo Pereda and his family have a wonderful time swimming with the dolphins.

'Barefoot Contessa' Turns Down Make-a-Wish Kid, Twice - ABC News

'Barefoot Contessa' Turns Down Make-a-Wish Kid, Twice - ABC News

It is amazing to me how fast a person, can change their mind. Especially when they get bad publicity because of of their initial decision. I know she can not possibly respond, and participate with every request she receives. No one could. I honestly just think more thought should be put into the things she does. Not like her show is not recorded in advance.

Food Network Chef Ina Garten Denies Make-A-Wish Request

Food Network Chef Ina Garten Denies Make-A-Wish Request

I am an avid Food Network viewer. I know personally I will never watch this woman again. I don't see how anyone can possibly turn down a child's Make A Wish wish. It takes a very heartless individual to do something like that to a child who may not be here much longer. I used to like this chef, however after reading this article that has changed.

Tragedy in Japan

My heart goes out to everyone that has been, and could still be effected by this terrible tragedy. If the earthquake, and tsunami weren't bad enough to try and recover from, now they have the problems with the nuclear reactors to worry about.

As the wheels turn

After spending 2 nights sleeping on the couch due to orders from his doctor to keep his head elevated, my darling husband slept in the bed Friday night, and Saturday night. We now know why they say to keep it elevated for 7-10days. He now looks like someone hit him. The inside corners of both of his eyes are swollen and bruised. He goes to the Doctor at 10 in the morning for partial suture removal. The doctor said they did to much rearranging to remove them all at once. This makes me feel better, because even I can tell by looking at it that a couple of places need a few more days.
I'm just incredibly glad to know they got all of it, now to just get him healed and normal again.

What a week

On Monday my husband had a MOHS procedure done. This procedure was done to remove skin cancer. Due to where it was, and the size of the tumor, Wednesday he had to have another surgery done to close the hole left from Monday's procedure. I am pleased to report that he is doing great. He went back to work today, and worked half a day. I think he's going to try for a full day tomorrow. I am also pleased to be able to say that according to the report we got from the doctor, there is no evidence of the tumor after the procedure on Monday. This means luckily he will not have receive chemo, or radiation.

I am so happy with the outcome. That man means the world to me.

To my wonderful husband Jerry. Baby, I love you more then I can tell you! I am so thankful everything went so well.

My poor neglected blog

I know I have been out of pocket again here lately. At least this time I have a decent excuse, well at least I think I do and that is what matters. The little munchkin had the flu, then Jerry ended up with it, and then I got it. I thought little bit was finally on the mend, but I think he's trying to get sick again. I will be so glad when the weather straightens out some. Down to 49 tonight, up to 77 tomorrow. No wonder we're all sick.

On a different note, recommended reading for this post is "The Postcard Killers" By James Patterson.

Personally I love all of James Patterson's books and this one is no different. It has been a very enjoyable book.

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day to all my followers. My poor blog is feeling neglected at the moment. Seems like there is never anything going on that I feel the need to blog about.
Having a wonderful day. I got a huge card from my hubby, and he cooked a special dinner for me last night. Nothing like the little things to make you feel loved, am I right?? Other events that should be documented,? My sister moved in a week ago. After yesterday she now has a bedroom. I have come to the conclusion we have entirely too much junk. I guess those are the highlights from here for now. I'm sure there is something I'm leaving out, if I am I will add it later.

25th anniversary of the Challenger disaster - Yahoo! News

25th anniversary of the Challenger disaster - Yahoo! News

Today my thoughts and prayers are with the families of the astronauts who were on the Challenger. I was almost 6 years old when this tragedy struck. I remember seeing it on TV because our teacher thought it would be a good learning experience.
