I was hoping for something exciting to write about for my 100th post.
I got what I asked for, just not what I meant.
While out and about today I almost took out a 4 point buck in my car. Something told me to glance over my shoulder and check on Chase. Had I not I would have hit it head on, as it was I managed to miss it. Great news right???
About an hour later my husband asked me to go pick up lunch for him. No big deal right? That's what I thought as well. On my way back to the car lot from getting lunch, I was involved in a 3 car pileup. Luckily I managed to keep it from becoming a 5 car pileup.
A truck broke down in the middle of the road, and there was a lady stopped behind it. I slowed to a stop to try and merge with traffic in the other lane. The lady behind me, also stopped. The lady behind her not so much. She slammed into the lady behind me, who was pushed into me. Since I was on my brakes I managed to keep from being pushed into the car in front of me. The lady at fault admitted to not paying attention, and not noticing we were all stopped.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank my guardian angels. If I ever doubted they were there I know I NEVER will again. Today could have been such a bad day, and thanks to some unseen presence Chase and I are both ok. Praise the Lord.
Pretty much everything about being a stay at home mom, and then some! If I find a good deal, I will share. If I use a crappy product, I will share that as well. I will also post products that friends tell me are crappy!!!!

Hollywood Lost Another Great Today
Leslie Nielsen died today at the age of 84. My heart goes out to his friends and family. Hollywood definitely lost a great actor today. His movies were always good for a laugh.

Happy Anniversary to my wonderful husband
November 23, 2004 was the day I married my best friend. 6 years and still going strong. We have been through our share of good times, and bad times, through all of this we have remained united. We may fuss and argue sometimes, but neither of us would rather be anywhere else. We are in this together for the long run.
Jerry, I love you more than I ever thought I could love anyone. Everyday we spend together makes me look forward to the next. I love you more every day. Thank you for being mine.

People
It has come to my attention that people apparently have some sort of "Sense of Entitlement" where other peoples lives are concerned.
One of my favorite bloggers is coming under fire because for some reason people think they are entitled to know every aspect of her life. To me this makes no sense. People blog because they want to. What they choose to share or not share is completely up to them
For some reason some of these "entitled" people have even started at least one blog that I have heard of, just to bash the original blogger.
My advice to the "entitled" people, if you do not agree with someone fine. DON'T read what that person writes. It's the internet for crying out loud. There is this really nifty feature on EVERY webpage a person goes to, it's that little box with an "x" in the top right corner.
Instead of starting drama, and bringing more readers to a blog you don't like, close the page, don't read it, don't go back, and for the love of everything holy don't comment.
My heart goes out to all of the people who are effected by nosy, mean spirited, busy bodies, who have nothing better to do with their lives than to try and bring someone else down to their level.
To my favorite blogger, if you read this, you know who you are. Please continue to do what you do!! I love your blog, and reading about your amazing family.

Time flies.............
Seems like it has been forever since I have taken the time to blog. Monday I start class again. I have definitely enjoyed the break. I know I needed it. Friday (November 19, 2010) we're going to the movie. The new Harry Potter movie opens on the 19th, and since we have been together we have seen them all opening night. This also works as an early anniversary present, since our anniversary happens to be the 23rd. Hard to believe my wonderful husband and I are celebrating 6 years happily married. Together 7, married 6.
December brings it's own list of fun things to do. Dewayne turns 15 on the 1st. Chase turns 3 on the 11th. Megan turns 18 on Christmas Day. Also, we are planning on making one of our famous road-trips. This insures we get to see everyone for Christmas.
As plans stand at the moment we will be leaving here on December 19, and will be home LATE the 25th. My wonderful husband is due back at work on the 27th.
Recommended reading for this post is: Patricia Cornwell. All of the books in her "Scarpetta" series are page turners. I am currently re-reading the series again. My husband is reading the latest book in the series.

Kids
Today was Chase's post-up checkup. I am pleased to say that even though he lost the button, the fact that the stitch stayed in means it did its job. The doctor says everything looks perfect, and he wants to see him again in 6 weeks. I am definitely happy to be just about done with it. I am extremely glad we had such great experiences with the surgeon, hospital, and nurses. For the most part everything was great.

Kids and surgery (Warning)
Yesterday (Wednesday) was a little long, what with surgery, and the general nastiness that followed. I ended up calling and talking to the on call Urologist last night. Not even 12 hours after surgery and his button came off. During the Orchiopexy a button is attached to the testicle to keep it weighed down until it heals.
After the surgery in January his button stayed on for a week, like it was supposed to. I knew the button was supposed to stay on, so when it came off I called. I found out that while it should stay longer then less than a day, 1 in 4 lose theirs before they should. Luckily the thread from the stitch is still there, so the outcome should be the same.
Today if a person did not know he had surgery they would never believe it. He has been his normal rambunctious self. I wish I would recover that fast from surgery. I love how kids can go through something like that and it never slow them down.

What next?
After being told for years to use the sleep positioners, now they are saying they are unsafe. These people really need to make up their minds. I never used any of the positioners for my kids, but I know people who have. Makes me wonder what's next. Every couple of years they decide something we have been doing as parents is unsafe, and things we were told years ago were unsafe are safe again. I'm glad I'm done having kids, this gets confusing. Surgery in the morning
We have to be at the hospital at 7:30 a.m. for Chase's surgery. I know he will be fine, however, my nerves are shot. There is nothing worse than the stress of knowing your child is having surgery. My heart goes out to the parents who deal with this on a regular basis. I have the benefit of knowing for the most part after tomorrow that he will never have to have surgery again. This is his second surgery in less than three years. I do not see how parents go through this all the time. I know they have no choice, but it has to be nerve wracking. Thanks for listening to me vent. I will update after surgery.

Rain! Again
Wow. We got rain two days in a row. I am so not used to that happening anymore. We all slept late this morning, then after a late breakfast we took the munchkin to the playground. As we were getting out of the car it started to kind of sprinkle. We let him play for almost an hour. By the time we left it was coming down pretty well. We got home, and he played outside for a bit longer, again in the rain. I love rain showers like that, there is nothing like playing in the rain. We finally came inside, and of course the silly rain quit. However, it still looked kind of nasty out.
Well it's now 11:15 p.m. and it's raining again. Has been for the last little while. I know we needed it, I'm just afraid it will cause flooding in places. It has been so dry here.
I have to call Tuesday to find out what time we have to be at the hospital Wednesday. If it goes like the last one did we will be home by lunchtime, and Chase will be ready to get up and play sometime that afternoon. After the last one the doctor told me "Make him rest this afternoon, don't let him do anything." Apparently that doctor has never had a 2 year old. We couldn't make him be still for anything. Even with the painkillers. I mistakenly assumed that narcotics would make a toddler sleepy, I WAS WRONG!!!!!!!!!!
